Mission
Advancing education and choice for women and girls in the Sahel.
Vision
A healthy and resilient Sahel where women and girls are educated and free to make critical life choices.
Approach
Build local leadership and advocacy capacity.
OASIS builds local leadership and capacity for research and advocacy to advance self-determination for women and girls in the Sahel. OASIS works to ensure the Sahel’s emerging leaders have the skills and resources to be the driving force of sustainable development in the region.
Develop, cultivate and scale evidence-based programs.
OASIS works with local partners to develop programs based on deep ethnographic research. We take a comprehensive approach to fill gaps to improve outcomes for women and girls in the Sahel. Once programs are sustainable, we support our partners to become independent organizations.
Conduct research to inform policy and practice.
OASIS has strong research capabilities, conducting ethnographic and other studies to guide the design of our own programs and those of our partners. We also research to inform programs and policies at the national and international level.
